What is the best thing about being a BankSouth Mortgage loan officer?

Making the dream come true of homeownership for my customers. I am a person who is in constant contact with my customers throughout the whole process.

What has been your biggest accomplishment in your career?

• Consistently being in the top 10 in regards to producing.
• Having served several families over my 38-year career, it’s always exciting to hear from them for either repeat service, a referral, or to help their sons and daughters purchase their first home.
• Mentoring. One of my favorite things to do is teach, coach, and train. This has always been extremely rewarding for me. I have worked with some of the best in the business and have spent a lot of my time investing in those on the field and in corporate America.

What do you enjoy doing on the weekends?

I coach high school baseball from January to May. I also served as mayor pro-tem for close to 15 years for the City of Alpharetta. However, when not on a baseball field, I love spending time with my wife and 4 kids.

D.C. Aiken, a 48 year resident of the Metro Atlanta Area, graduated from the College of William and Mary with a BA in Economics. With more than 30 years of experience in the mortgage business, he has a solid understanding of the local real estate market and knows how to find the best mortgage financing solution to fit your specific needs.

Some of the main factors that affect the interest rate are credit score, down payment or loan-to-value, the type of mortgage, and how long the interest rate is locked.

The information below depicts average rates on a national level. These rates are not specific to BankSouth Mortgage but are provided to give a general idea of where rates are nationally for different loan types. This information is calculated from actual locked rates with customers across 35% of all mortgage transactions nationwide.

The OBMMI™ methodology takes the average rate of all appropriate interest rates locked through the Optimal Blue, LLC (“Optimal Blue”) product and pricing engine (“PPE”) on a given day. No adjustments to the rates that account for buy-up or buy-down decisions made by individuals are performed. These indices leverage data from Optimal Blue PPE lock requests (approximately 35% of all locks nationwide) aggregated daily and updated nightly with the previous day’s locks. Weekends and holidays are excluded. All applicable product types are included unless otherwise specified. From the moment I spoke with DC, I knew that I was in good hands. The mortgage market at this time is volital. DC walked me through the mess and achieved a great deal for me. There were multiple issues and he and his team were always readily available.
