The folks at this firm are very well organized, pleasant to work with and helpful. The materials for preparing to apply for a loan are well prepared and easy to follow. The materials for making the loan application are equally well prepared and easy to follow. We did regularly have questions along the way and these were handled by Ms. Angie Gable, the Loan Processor. She is super--always promptly available and answers questions using simple and clear terminology. She occasionally encouraged us to meet certain deadlines and to provide certain information in a timely fashion, but never in a harassing way. We are pleased with the entire experience of working with Mr. Keith Spain and Ms. Angie Gable at BankSouth. Contributed by Roy Robin Knispel

As a first-time homebuyer, working with Carol Schretter's team at BankSouth Mortgage was easy, streamlined, and low-stress from start to finish. As an Army family using a VA loan during a PCS move, we needed someone who understood both the mortgage process and the unique challenges that can come with military timelines. Carla absolutely delivered. I shopped multiple lenders before making a decision, and Carla not only matched the best rate we found, but also brought something even more valuable — great communication, personal attention, and strong local knowledge of the area. She was incredibly responsive throughout the process, answering questions quickly and making herself available whenever we needed her. She explained rates, costs, and all the numbers in a way that was easy to understand, which made the process feel much less stressful. What really stood out was her knowledge of VA loans and the personal attention she gave us from start to finish. Carol with Banksouth was a huge help during my first time homebuyer process. When I reached out, she was always very prompt and precise. Initially, I wasn’t approved for exactly what I wanted; so I took some time to refocus on paying down debt and saving. Within 6 months I came back after doing the work and Carol jumped right in picking back up where we left off. I instantly got approved for a higher amount and even when I found a house slightly over my approval, she worked to find ways to get me into that home; without paying much more. From there the process started moving very quickly, sometimes needing multiple items and even duplicate items; but in the end it was pretty seamless compared to some peoples horror stories. I can’t thank Carol and her team enough for their help!

When I was shopping for mortgage rates, Jan was the only one of five who actually sent a PDF with a breakdown of rates and costs instead of simply sharing over the phone. It was a level of transparency that was very reassuring and led me to believe that she would be the most professional of the group. I was not disappointed, as my assumptions proved true. I would certainly recommend Jan as a partner in the home buying business.

I chose Cleveland as my lender because of his glowing Google reviews, and I can confirm that he is somehow even better than I expected. Buying a home is an incredibly stressful process, but it never felt this way because of Cleveland’s diligent approach and incredibly positive and infectious attitude. Bank South (Kristy Ragsdale and team) started displaying their professionalism and expertise 8 yrs. ago helping me secure a mortgage. Recently retired (back then), I didn’t present a financially lucrative profile. I required some work! Was turned down by several financial institutions and appeared to be headed to the rental housing market. Kristy said, “not so fast” and got to work. As a home owner, accruing equity, completely changed my financial profile. Over the years Kristy continues to send out emails keeping her clients up to date on the fluctuations with interest rates and opportunities in the financial market. She’s not a one and done banker, your a client for life.
