What made you decide to be a BankSouth Loan Officer?
After completing my Accounting and Finance Degree, I went into banking and found a huge love for helping people. During my growth in community banking, I was given the opportunity to do lending and found it to be my favorite part of the job: Helping people become homeowners. This is when I knew that Mortgage Lending was for me! BankSouth Mortgage's commitment to local growth made it the perfect fit for me!
What makes you different than others in your profession?
The two things that differentiate me from others in this industry are my local knowledge and ability to relate with many people on a personal level. Having lived in the Valdosta area almost my whole life, I am familiar with the area and can help my customers feel at ease through the process.
What do you enjoy doing on weekends?
On the weekends, I enjoy spending time with friends and family. Whether on the ball field watching my kids play, in the outdoors hunting or fishing with my husband, or relaxing with friends. I cherish the memories I am able to create with the people around me.
What organizations are you or have been active in throughout your community?
I love my community and being involved with local organizations. Some of these include the local Homebuilders Association, Board of Realtors Association, Valdosta Junior Service League, and ministries within my church at Park Avenue Church.
If you could be anywhere than your home state, where would you want to be? Why?
If I could travel anywhere, it would be Greece. I have some Greek ancestry that I would love to explore, and the beautiful scenic pictures of the land make it an ideal destination for me.
Flashback to when you were 10 years old. What do you want to be when you grow up? Why?
At age 10, I wanted to be a doctor. I have always had a love for helping people and this seemed like the perfect way to do that.
Bio of Nikki Rodgers
Nikki Rodgers is a Valdosta native who holds a BBA in Accounting and Finance from VSU and is a graduate of the Paul W. Barrett Jr. Graduate School of Banking. Nikki particularly enjoys the personal aspect of helping customers reach their goals, whether that is home ownership or restructuring their mortgage to meet their financial goals. She has ten-plus years of experience in the mortgage industry. She is a member of the 2015 Leadership Lowndes Class, Valdosta Junior Service League, and Park Avenue Church. Nikki is married to Marty and has three boys.

I couldn’t have asked for a better mortgage lender! Nikki was professional, honest, and informative. This was a completely new experience for my husband and myself and without Nikki this would have been much more unnerving. Buying a home is absolutely one of the biggest stressors in life, (especially when it comes to underwriting). Nikki however, was always available to answer and questions I had and to explain indepth the parts of the process i did not fully understand. I absolutely appreciated her check-ins when things were frustrating for me and for helping keep an eye on my tiny human at the time of close. Even after the process was said and , done she continued to reach out to me to make sure things were well and even wished me a happy birthday!
