Kim Nelson

Dynamic, dedicated, and driven, Nelson has demonstrated phenomenal success in driving multimillion-dollar sales growth and is a veritable leader in improving sales team performance. Nelson’s work ethic is highly regarded, and she is known by clients and business partners for her loyalty, tenacity, and an unstoppable drive to succeed. Nelson’s career started in mortgage banking in 1986 with Banker’s First Mortgage. In October 1989 she relocated to the Atlanta-based Sun America Mortgage where she began to grow her personal production volume to an incredible $220 million annually by 2002. Her outstanding performance gained her regional and national recognition as number one in Georgia for annual production by the mortgage Bankers Association and number four in the nation for the number of loans originated by Mortgage Originator Magazine. Nelson has been named a ‘Phenomenon’ by one of the nation’s top speakers and sales trainers, 30-year industry veteran Doug Smith. After more than two decades of serving the mortgage community, Nelson’s dream of owning her own business came to fruition in September of 2008 when she launched LoanSouth Mortgage. Later, in 2011 LoanSouth Mortgage aligned with BankSouth to create BankSouth Mortgage, which currently has offices throughout the state of Georgia and South Carolina, lending to many states across the country. Nelson was recently named as one of HousingWire Magazine’s “2022 Women of Influence” for being a trailblazing woman who has earned significant leadership positions, made notable contributions in the housing sector, demonstrated market resilience and innovative action to guide her company, and set an example for the industry. Nelson and her husband have two children and live in Atlanta, Georgia.
