What made you decide to be a BankSouth Loan Officer?

The Career found me. I was out of a job, lost my car and about to get kicked out of my apartment when a childhood friend recruited me into this business 32 years ago.

What do you enjoy doing on weekends?

Golf/Grilling/College Football

Who is someone you admire and why?

Arnold Palmer, His competitiveness, drive, and love for the game of golf.

If you could be anywhere than your home state, where would you want to be? Why?

Any beach in the Gulf of New Mexico that is not crowded.

Flashback to when you were 10 years old. What do you want to be when you grow up? Why?

I wanted to be a cowboy because I thought it was cool.

He has a passion for guiding both first-time homebuyers and those purchasing their forever home through the mortgage process. Stuart's journey into the mortgage industry began when he was offered a position on a friend's team and quickly realized how much he loved the work.

He made the complex lending process easy and was a very pleasant and responsive professional. Stuart Smith is ....and always will be our loan officer. He is absolutely FANTASTIC!!!! In addition to being extremely knowledgeable about everything associated with mortgages, he is also a really nice guy! The mortgage process was very smooth. Thanks to Stuart of course! He was there to "hold our hand" through every twist and turn. I would think most people are like me when it comes to mortgages. I had a hundred questions. Stuart answered everyone of them. But more importantly, he always responded with in minutes!!!!!.....7 days a week, day and night! Our gratitude for Stuart is unsurpassed!!!!!

My experience with Stuart was truly an amazing experience. Buying my first house was extremely nerve wrecking but Stuart helped and reassured me throughout the entire process. You can truly tell that he cares for others and his honesty and integrity make him stand out from other lenders that I have spoke with before him.
