What made you decide to be a BankSouth Mortgage Loan Officer?

I wanted a career I could work at and still be a mom to my son’s. I was able to do that and now my sons are part of my team. We formed the “Wagner Team” and our tag line is “let our family serve yours”

What accomplishments you’re most proud of?

• Raising two hardworking and respectable sons.
• Creating and running a successful Mortgage Brokerage for 10 years.
• Running The Milton Branch at BankSouth Mortgage for 10 years.
• Nurturing several of our young operations staff.

List significant awards you’ve received in your field?

• MBAG Top producer since 2006
• BankSouth Mortgage Top producer since 2012
• Broker of the year in 2009
• CMA Certification

What is your biggest success professionally? Why was it a big success?

Closing over $100 mil in 2020. I doubled my volume that year with the same staff.

List reasons why you are different than others in your profession?

I am not sure I am different, but this stands out; communication, knowledge, and caring that my clients get the best loan program and service.

What do you enjoy doing on weekends?

College football and spending time with family and enjoying my home, I work hard to create an environment I love to be in.

What significant drivers motivate you to learn your profession?

Competition - the drive to excel and be the best, and provide for my family.

If you could be anywhere than your home state, where would you want to be? Why?

North Carolina. I have a second home there on a lake and love the NC Mountains.

Bio of Jan Wagner

Jan has been an integral part of the metro Atlanta area mortgage industry since 1997. She is a Certified Residential Mortgage Specialist® who is knowledgeable in all aspects of lending, allowing her to comfortably work with first-time home buyers as well as seasoned buyers interested in second or investment properties, and retirees alike. Jan also has extensive experience in construction to permanent lending. She has received the Mortgage Bankers Association of Georgia Top Producer Gold Award every year since 2006. Her customers and referral partners often comment on her thorough communication style, ease of doing business with, and her individualized approach to obtaining the right mortgage for each client.
